The Senior Ops Manager is responsible for the performance of multiple body shop locations within a designated area.  This includes meeting each locations’ annual business plan objectives including, but not limited to, operations, internal and external development, business relationships, internal and external customer satisfaction and profitability.  The Senior Ops Manager is expected to provide leadership and mentoring to his/her direct reports and lead their team effectively.  They must also practice our core values in all that they do:  Honesty and Integrity, Teamwork and Profit Focus.


  • Assures that locations deliver on and comply with Corporate guidelines on customer service, repair quality, HR policy and financial performance.
    • Observing people’s performance and behavior during location visits, with special attention to trends.  Provide observations, feedback and coaching to the Location GM
    • Assure customer complaints are handled and resolved properly.  This includes listening carefully and viewing the situation through the customer’s eyes, followed by coaching the GM on final resolution and future problem prevention.  Ultimately owning the desired result.
    • Use and coordinate the resources of their entire team of GMs to improve their overall and individual performance
    • Ensure GMs are:
      • Clearly communicating the company’s core values and goals to their staff
      • Causing their staff to follow company Standard Operating Procedures (Proven Process)
      • Recognizing and documenting exceptional and substandard performance
      • Constantly developing their team’s focus on our mission and delivering consistent repair service experiences that exceed customer expectation
    • Recruit, interview and hire staff as required for improvement and growth
    • Make sure new hires get proper training in company policy and procedures
    • Actively watch for and promote opportunities for continuous education and development for all  employees
    • Promote safe, clean working conditions, fully utilizing Envirosafe and Verifacts audits and location safety records to assure constant improvement
  • Internal reporting and communications
    • Conduct operations reviews with each location GM on a monthly basis or more often as required.
      • Performance measurement
      • Customer satisfaction trends and indicators
      • Employee performance and satisfaction trends
      • Compliance with the “Proven Process” operating model
      • Taking advantage of existing and anticipated new opportunities
    • Actively participate in company and corporate operational meetings as requested
  • External communications
    • Promote and develop relationships with area insurance contacts and other referral sources
    • Serve as a trusted liaison with the above
    • Have contact at least monthly with these key contacts
    • Regularly report on any trends in these relationships with the Corporate Team
    • Support external marketing and team building activities as requested

Educational Requirements

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in management.  Multi-unit, business consulting is an asset

Experience Requirements

  • 5-7 years of industry experience
  • General understanding of business financial statements and accounting
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Collision Repair Management and estimating systems (Nexsyis, CCC, Audatex, etc.) experience is an asset
  • ICAR Platinum certification preferred
